Strange, as I had my Volt under the rain for days and no problem at all! Maybe there is a small defect in the cap...take a look...

|TSquare||You could have a hair line crack on the back side of the socket on the car, (there have been a few of these reported). Take it to a dealer to get it checked out. Or it could be just a weak GFI.|

Charging Problem in wet weather.
I live in FL and during the past week it rained and misted for about 4 days. After 2 days I found that when I connected the 120v charger provided it would trip the GFI that is on the AC outlet that I have it connected to.
I did note one morning the there was some condensation inside the cover but I did not see any moisture on the mating plug.
Last night it would trip the GFI but this morning it worked fine.
Any tricks to prevent this from happening again. Several days with a discharged battery is not desirable.
