Looking for info on bluetooth phone problem
I'm having a little issue with the voice-activated bluetooth phone interface and I was hoping somebody could help.
Here's the issue: I have paired my phone (Nexus 4, Android 4.3) with the car, and it has synced all the contact info. I'm trying to call somebody using voice commands ("Call [person X] on mobile"), and it recognizes the name and that I have said "mobile" (it accurately repeats back the stuff I said), but it then immediately pops up a "Dialing Failed" error message. It does this for every name and type of phone field (home, work, mobile).
There is no diagnostic info as to why this is failing. I tried manually navigating the interface by pushing buttons on the screen (select the phone, view the contact list, select a person, select the phone number entry) and when I do that it dials correctly.
Here's the kicker: If I say "Dial" followed by a phone number, it *dials correctly*. It even pops up a message on the screen "Dialing [person]", so I know it even recognizes the phone number in the contacts list. So all the info is basically OK and working - at least some of the voice commands are fine.
Googling the problem has led me to believe that this is a moderately common problem between many bluetooth devices (iPhone 5, Android 4.2 and 4.3) and several Chevy cars (the Cruze and a couple other models are mentioned).
Anybody have any info on this?
Thanks for your help!
