How to turn off the OnStar navigation voice?

The voice interrupts music AND phone calls, and as I'm mostly using it just to see miles to destination I don't need it.

I don't see a preference setting to turn it off. (For the built-in navigation someone said to turn down the volume when the voice speaks but then how would one turn that back up if you don't know when the voice comes).

Before you say call OnStar, the thing is I'm not the primary driver and whenever I do drive the Volt specialists are not online.

Doh! That's what I would have thought, but I don't see such a menu. Maybe I'm blind, I'll look again.

Or is that for the BUILT-IN navigation?

You are asking about the Navigation Voice aren't you? Pages 61-63 of the Infotainment Manual.

The above must be for built-in Navi.

OnStar says for that voice, you have to press the button next to the OnStar button and use the command "mute guidance" (or something like that, I should have written it down, oops). To get the voice back you use the SAME command.

Oh, I misunderstood what you were asking for. You wanted the Turn by Turn voice muted. Yea, it looks like you just push the Onstar phone button then respond "Mute Directions". Here is a link to Onstar's user manual. https://www.onstarfulfillment.com/pd...en9_Manual.pdf Check out page 10.
