volt battery charging question

I have garage already wired with 240 V 30A receptacles. Why can't I just put a 240V30A male plug on the 120 drop cord. I am thinking there isn't any circuitry the 120 OEM Charger other than the LED lights that tell you you are connected and charging.

my volt questions is how much does it cost to replace the battery once it goes bad. i'm thinkin this isn't going to be cheap. help me out

Good Afternoon Briando,

Currently there is not a price on a replacement high voltage battery. Due to the 8 year / 100,000 mile warranty (which ever comes first). Or iff you have the HOV package then it would be 10 year / 150,000 mile warranty (which ever comes first).

Good thread. I don't have a chevy volt but thinking to buy that. Can you please tell me once if you charge fully the car battery then how many hours it can run or you can also mention it in Km. Thanks.
